Primary Physicians:

Psychiatrists, the primary physicians at Rye, are responsible for all individual psychotherapy. They may treat patients directly, as leaders of the multidisciplinary team, or supervise the case with the psychotherapy performed by trained therapists.

In this way, they secure the doctor-patient relationship underlying the entire program so essential in achieving successful results.

The Behavioral Medicine Service Coordinator is Joanne Moskowitz, M.A. who has many years' experience in behavioral-training modalities including stress and anger management and biofeedback therapy.

The primary physicians review the treatment plan and each patient's personal assessment records. They coordinate medication-reduction procedures with the hospital pharmacist and nursing staff and update and sign all orders. Physicians also participate in internal peer review, which is designed to be informational rather than investigative in nature and of equal benefit to the rest of the medical staff, other hospital personnel and the patient population.

Referring Physicians:

Referring physicians play an important part in the treatment process. Therapeutic visits are welcomed and the staff stands ready to assist visitors at these times. The hospital also values referring therapists' input regarding staff deliberations on discharge planning and aftercare.
